Saipem, in collaboration with KOA Oil & Gas and AVEON Offshore, has been awarded a significant offshore contract by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) for the development of the Bonga North deepwater oil field, located 130 km off Nigeria's coast. Saipem’s share of the contract is valued at approximately $900 million.

This project involves the tieback of wells to the existing FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading unit). Saipem’s responsibilities include Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) of risers, flowlines, subsea umbilicals, and related subsea structures.
In line with its commitment to local content, Saipem will conduct design and fabrication activities in Nigeria, engaging local suppliers and subcontractors.
This contract strengthens Saipem’s fleet utilization through 2027 and reinforces its leadership in deepwater operations, particularly in West Africa, where it has maintained a strong presence since the late 1960s.
Saipem continues to set benchmarks in subsea engineering, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s energy sector and the global offshore industry.
