31 December 2024 marked a significant milestone for Yinson Production, as the FPSO Atlanta successfully achieved first oil following a rigorous 72-hour test. This achievement signals the commencement of the firm charter, under which Yinson will receive contracted day rates for a period of 15 years, extending through 2039.
The FPSO Atlanta, now officially delivered to its client, BRAVA Energia (formerly Enauta Energia S.A.), represents a critical addition to the operations of one of Latin America's largest independent oil and gas producers.
A Transformative Redevelopment Project
The FPSO Atlanta project was awarded to Yinson Production on 21 February 2022 as an EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) contract. Yinson further cemented its role in the project by exercising its option to purchase FPSO Atlanta in July 2023, securing a 15-year firm contract with an additional 5-year optional period. The total contract value stands at an impressive USD 1.981 billion.
Operating in the Santos Basin
Positioned in Brazil's Atlanta field within the Santos Basin, FPSO Atlanta boasts the following specifications:
Production Capacity: Up to 50,000 barrels of oil per day.
Storage Capacity: Maximum of 1.2 million barrels.
